O Lord Jesus, You who with the gentle words “I am” make Your enemies fall to the ground, and thereby show and prove the power of Your divine omnipotence: Grant that we poor sinners, who are chastened by Your holy Word, may rise again in Your grace and in the strength of the Holy Spirit through the comforting preaching of Your Gospel, as Thomas, Mary, and others were enlivened. Amen.
Divine Lord Jesus, You safeguarded Your beloved apostles from the malice of Your enemies and said, "If you seek Me, let these go." Take us up also as Your anointed ones, that through Your grace and guidance, we may be guarded against the devil, hell, sin, death, and the wicked world, and be preserved unto Your heavenly honor. But especially, dear Lord, may Your accompaniment come to us with blessing and power when the final evening hour approaches, when we shall turn in body and soul from this vale of misery to the kingdom of Your grace. Amen.
