Almighty, only God, Father, Son, and Spirit, recalling Your divine majesty shows us the terrible fall and gruesome darkness into which we have fallen on account of sin, since of ourselves we can neither perceive nor know anything of Your essence and will, not to mention that we are unable to bring about anything good from our own strength. But we praise Your boundless mercy, that in Christ You have restored the lost image in us, and have, through the voice of Your Word and the Holy Spirit, blessed and sanctified our hearts to honor You and confirmed and illumined them in the knowledge of You. Now we beseech You, grant that we may daily increase in this knowledge of and faith in Your Word and name and that we may employ all our life, activities, and work according to Your holy command and will, through the same, Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, true God, now and forever. Amen.
